Urdu Language
Duration: 40 weeks
A 40-week intensive course consisting of 40 1-hour lessons taught by a Qualified Urdu Teacher. The course provides an excellent basis for reading, writing and speaking the Urdu language. This course is broken into 3 levels followed by a revision session upon completion of each level and an assessment week:
Level 1 – 12 weeks
Urdu Alphabet, Sound Symbols & Numbers, a Introduction to the Urdu Language, Urdu Vowels and Sounds & Symbols
Level 2 – 12 weeks Personal Identification
How to Introduce and describe ourselves in Urdu, Likes & Dislikes and the use of present tense
Level 3 – 12 weeks Family Relations
Introduction to family members, Relatives & Friends
Level 1
- How to meet and greet in the target language
- How to read, write and pronounce letters of the Urdu Alphabet
- Formation of Urdu letters to make a meaningful word
- Understand and respond to the simple instructions
- Copy familiar short phrases, write names on the card, write your name and age, numbers 1-50
Level 2
- Writing Urdu sentences about ourselves Writing sentences in the present tense
- Read words, sentences and translation in English
- Read and match the correct sentence with English and Urdu
- Be able to label the pictures in Urdu
- Numbers 51-100
Level 3
- Writing short sentences to convey simple information about family and relatives
- Making a family tree · Composing emails/letters
- Reading and answering questions in Urdu and English
- Further reading and identifying
- Writing short paragraphs (spellings)
- Understand written information about self and family
